The film features artists such as country music the Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers, as well as blues titans Robert Johnson and Charley Patton. The film celebrates the pioneers of American music including blues, gospel, folk, Cajun, Appalachian, Hawaiian, Native American, without which there would be no jazz, rock, country, or R&B today.
