Matt Stang was born and raised in Manhattan. After graduating with a BA from the New School University in 2003 he immediately went to work at High Times Magazine. Starting as an intern, Matt worked his way up to the Director of Advertising and Sponsorship where he increased the Magazine’s advertising inventory by 40 pages. Matt is currently the Company’s Chief Revenue Officer and a shareholder.
Originating in Amsterdam in 1988, Matt brought the Cannabis Cup events to the United States in 2010 and used his industry connections to build a vendor client list that equates to 60% plus of an event’s net revenue. He is the original cannabis entrepreneur at High Times, and responsible for more than $50 million in company revenue over just the past five years.
For almost 20 years he has met and interacted with nearly everyone in the cannabis community. Stang is the Company’s go-to source for what’s happening behind the scenes of America’s Cannabis industry. His expertise in cannabis business includes marketing, branding, business development and product viability. Matt believes the future of High Times includes passive licensing, vertical advertising and influencer networks, an over the top digital network, concert tours, and taking the Cannabis Cup event back to Europe.
