Terrance Alan is a Principal at Alan, Kumin and Associates Cannabis Consulting, the Founding President of the San Francisco Entertainment Commission, retired producer of LoveFest, Owner of Flore on Market, and current Chairman of the SF Cannabis State Legalization Taskforce. Arrested for growing pot in his closet in SF during the AIDS crisis and arrested for hosting a New Year’s Party without a permit, he became familiar with the power of ground up activism as a response to perceived injustice and has delivered.
His plans at Flore on Market include being the first legally permitted cannabis and alcohol restaurant in SF. Launched last year, his team curated a first of its kind menu of 12 cannabis cocktails and “Toke Back Mountain” CBD beer, only to be forced to shut it down after cannabis adult use became legal. The challenge of creating law to incorporate basic human behavior socializing with cannabis, cuisine and cocktails is what lies ahead.
“It will be through events like FestForums that festival, event and entertainment folks will find a path forward in a cannabis legal state where current law doesn’t allow for any public consumption of cannabis.”
